Our day trip to Devprayag begins from Tapovan area of Rishikesh. The entire drive🚗 to Devprayag is along the Ganga river passing through forests and small villages and towns of Uttarakhand.

The road to Devprayag is mostly on the NH 58 going to Badrinath and Mana, the last village on Indo Tibetan border. These roads are part of Indian governments prestigious chardham all weather roads connecting chardham with four lane roads.

After driving for 20 minutes we reach Shivpuri, the capital of adventure trips in India and famous for #rafting #bungeejump #zipline and many more adventures 🌊for every one.

After 50 minutes of driving on the mountain roads we reach Marine drive near Malakhunti village where the road is all the river for some time thus name marine drive.

500 meters before the bus stand of Devprayag, a short cut with steep stairs take you the suspension bridge on the roaring Bhagirathi river. After crossing the bridge we enter into the market area passing through the lane to the famous confluence of Devprayag, the most important of panch ( five) prayags of Uttarakhand. It is here the Bhagirathi river coming from Gangotri glacier #gomukh and Alaknanada river from Badrinath meet and the Ganga begins starting her long journey to the bay of bengal.

The confluence is full of pilgrims coming from the nearby areas where priests are performing rituals for their families with mantras, making the whole are very spiritual.

After the confluence we take stairs to famous Raghunath temple 🏰dedicated to lord #rama the hero of #ramayan who after killing the demon king Rawana, did penance here to get away from the sin of killing a Brahmin Schlolar, the # Rawana.

The temple of Raghunath in Devprayag is very unique as only lord Rama id worshipped 🙏here , unlike other temples in #india, where lord rama id worshpped 🙏with his wife and brothers.
