Is there a difference between seeing your general dentist for Invisalign versus seeing an orthodontist for Invisalign? Yes and No...Dr. Jen explains in this video.
Both dentists and orthodontists can DO Invisalign. The plastic that is used is the same. But, the person doing the Invisalign treatment is different. Orthodontists are dental specialists. This means they have additional training and moving teeth and jaws is pretty much all they do. They are prepared to deal with any potential complications and know how to do all things involving tooth movement in many ways. You can think of it much like a medical specialty.
