How To Make Melted Crayon Art | Everyone has fond memories of crayons from their childhoods, but they're not exactly the art tool of choice for elite, professional artists. They break easily, sharpening them is difficult, and achieving a really nice, even coverage requires some effort. But when you see what unique wall art can be made with them, the waxy, colorful sticks might find their way back to the top of your wish list!

You'll Need:

crayons
paper
scissors
black acrylic paint
paint brush
canvas
glue stick
hot glue
small round bowls
masking tape
hair dryer

Here's How:

1. Draw the silhouette of a person with umbrella on a sheet of paper, cut it out, and paint it black. Alternatively, click on the article link above for some templates that you can print out.

2. Glue the design in the middle of the lower half of the canvas.

3. Glue the crayons to the top edge of the canvas with a hot glue gun.

4. Take a bowl which is roughly the same diameter as the silhouette umbrella and cover the design. Secure the bowl with masking tape, making sure that the edge of the bowl lies on the outline of the umbrella. Cover the rest of the silhouette below the bowl with masking tape.

5. Stand the canvas upright and melt the crayons with a hair dryer until the melted wax begins to run down the canvas.

6. Once you've created a colorful rain effect, remove the masking tape and bowl and paint a black base on the canvas to look like the ground.
