Which items to void? How to use the void?

Void is a cool new active item that was added in isaac afterbirth+ expansion and it allows you to VOID different items. It is held by Appolyon and if you void an active item, it's added as an extra effect, but if you void a passive item, you get random stats in return.

The video explores the void (and black rune) and tries to determine whetever it's a good idea to void certain isaac items or not. Specifically, we take a look at what the average stats are of a voided item and try to compare it to stat upgrades that regular items give us.

Once you've activated the void or black rune, there's no turning back, the item in question will be gone, but was it worth it? In some scenarios, like if you're succing a bad passive item, you'll always walk out with a net positive benefit. If you void an item like Meat for example, the question might be a bit harder to answer. Is voiding meat worth it? This is a bit more situational, but overall you shouldn't be afraid to void an item if you think it can bring you a benefit.

Void has its usefulness in Isaac as an item that has extremely fun synergies due to active items, but also has great potential when gaining stats by voiding passive items. It allows Appolyon to be one of the most flexible characters in the game alongside with Isaac as you can simply void the items you didn't want in the first place. Black Rune has a similar effect and my experiments show that there isn't a big difference in how the void and black rune work.

The conclusion is, the void is a good item and there are some items which are worth voiding even if it seems otherwise. Isaac is a game full of technicalities like this one, so if you want me to explore similar topics, don't be afraid to leave your suggestions in the comments down below.
