How to Unbind a DVR/NVR from Hik Connect when the error message "Message Failed" appears
Open Google and type "Download Hikvision SADP tool." From the search results, choose SADP-HI Tools—Hikvision. On Hikvision Web page, select "download."
Select the device that needs to be unbind. Then select the Unbind button, which is on the top.
You will popup window. You have to type the device user name and password and the verification code which is available in the popup window
If you receive a failed message, the reason will be a firmware mismatch or that the device is not online.
Firmware Version 3. Will not be unbound from the HikConnect server for security reasons.
The device's current firmware version is 3. We need to update the firmware.
Firmware version 4.XX.XX is mandatory to unbind the device from Hik Connect
A firmware update is needed if the device is running version 3.XX.XX. to get the new firmware. Send an email to Hikvision Support with the following information.([email protected])

Download the firmware from the email you received from support.

You must unzip the file if it is a zip file. Use the digicap.dav file to update.
Log in to the device and go to Configuration and Maintenance in Upgrade. You will get the firmware update option. Browse the firmware file and update the firmware.
Now the firmware has been updated to V4.XX.XX
After reboot. Select the device that needs to be unbound. Then select the Unbind button, which is on the top. There will be a pop-up window. You have to type the device's user name and password and the verification code, and then select confirm. Which is available in the popup window. Now the unbind will succeed.
After updating the firmware to version 4.0 or later, we can unbind using the device GUI (Graphical user interface).
Navigate to the settings menu. Select Network TCP/IP, select Advance, and select Platform Access.
Device Status is online. Hik-Connect account status in Linked
Next to that, there is an Unbind button; select Unbind.
In confirm permission, you have to type the device administrator password and select Next.
You will receive the message unlinked.
Now the device status is unlinked.
Important Points
If the device's firmware version is 3.XX.XX, we are unable to unbind it.
A firmware update is mandatory. It's got to be in 4.XX.XX.
If the device firmware version is 3.XX.XX, we have to send mail to [email protected]. With below details.

and
Device current firmware version
The device must be online, and the server address has to be. litedev.ind.hik-connect.com. And the Status must be Linked.
