'Hate' Flows At IUML Rally In Kerala | Chilling 'Anti-Hindu' Rants Raised | Newshour Debate

In this episode of The Newshour Debate, anchor Navika Kumar will discuss how on July 26, a video of a gathering held by the Muslim Youth League—a branch of the Indian Union Muslim League—where participants could be heard shouting anti-Indian slogans—surfaced on social media. The Kasargod district's Kanhangad is where the video was shot. The demonstration was held against the backdrop of the ethnic conflict in Manipur between the Kuki and Meitei factions. IUML is a member of the opposition parties' recently established "I.N.D.I.A" coalition. The video received criticism from a number of BJP leaders. We are joined by a few panelists expressing their views on this issue. Kerala BJP also denounced the event and urged that Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, be held accountable for what he had called the party's "secular" acts. "We vehemently condemn the shocking footage from the Kanhangad protest," they added. The Muslim League's cries of "We will hang you in temples" and "We will burn you alive" directed towards Hindus are abhorrent and cannot be excused. Rahul Gandhi needs to be held responsible for the acts of the group of people he refers to as "secular." This incident is a disturbing sign that Hindu society is being targeted by the Congress and its supporters. “IUML is a secular party. But there are people who make these kind of statements,” stated Abdul Razak Khan, Political Analyst.
