Having been gifted my digital-8 camcorder for Christmas 2021, I was still learning how to use it when I recorded the special train that Union Pacific ran from Council Bluffs to Salt Lake City for the Winter Olympics in February 2002. Without using a tripod, the footage is a little shaky at times, and there's quite a bit more zooming than what I would end up doing in some of my later videos. Even so, I hope you enjoy a look at this special train. We'll see it twice, once west of Ames, Nebraska and again just west of Schuyler, along with a mix of other UP traffic.
