Last week we brought you the story of how dairy giant Fonterra changed their entire milk tanker schedule in Te Rapa district so that their number one fan could go to bed on time.

Andy's parents share with us the beautiful story of their son who was born with one of the world's rarest syndromes. He's the only one in the country with his condition which means that when it came to accessing government support that other people with special needs' receive, Andy wasn't always eligible because he didn't always tick the boxes. And because he can't make legal decisions for himself, his parents must pay two and a half thousand dollars every three years to renew the welfare guardianship of their son. But it seems there is light at the end of the tunnel... Whilst many of us take independence for granted, a Government funded pilot programme in Waikato is helping people living with disabilities to live as independently as possible. The programme has become so successful it's reached capacity in just three years. And as Indira found out, that's brought some hope for Andy and his parents.
