DID NOT EXPECT TO SEE ALL OF THIS IN BELÉM DO PARÁ!

We continue our visit of the amazing city of Belém in the state of Parà. In this video, we visited a place where you could argue it is the heart of the action in Belém. The first place that we visited was Mercado Ver-o-Peso which is the market where you can find anything and everything: there is a fish market, fruit and vegetables market, spices, handcrafts, juices, etc. Two specific products that we wanted to see and we were able to find there were Brazilian nuts or what is called Castanha do Pará in Portuguese and also the famous Açai that comes to Mercado Ver-o-Peso directly from the Amazon jungle very early in the morning. We show you how the Brazilian nuts are cut and taken out of their shells and also a wide variety of finished products that you get from it. As for Açai, we explain to you the difference between how it is consumed in the Belém and the state of Pará in comparison to the rest of Brazil which is very interesting. Next we visited a market across the street from Mercado Ver-o-Peso which is the municipal market or Marcado Municipal which is a space dedicated mostly to butcher shops and meat products. However, Mercado Municipal is also very famous for its architecture and the design and details of the metal work present in its structure. Lastly, we visited another very famous and popular tourist destination which is located right next to Mercado Ver-o-Peso called Estação das Docas. Estação das Docas used to be the port of Belém which was then converted to the structure that exists today. It consists of 3 old warehouses that house restaurants, coffee shops, souvenir shops, etc. and the 3rd warehouse is used for events and exhibitions.
