I Saw the Man. His figure reached from earth to heaven and was clad in a purple mantle. He stood deep in foliage and flowers and his head, on which was the head-band of an initiate, seemed to disappear mysteriously in infinity. Before him on a cube-shaped altar were four symbols of magic—the sceptre, the cup, the sword and the pentacle. His right hand pointed to heaven, his left to earth. Under his mantle he wore a white tunic girded with a serpent swallowing its tail. His face was luminous and serene, and, when his eyes met mine, I felt that he saw most intimate recesses of my soul. I saw myself reflected in him as in a mirror and in his eyes I seemed to look upon myself. And I heard a voice saying: — "Look, this is the Great Magician!" With his hands he unites heaven and earth, and the four elements that form the world are controlled by him.

ARCANI

A mysterious name to describe the ancient tarot cards, consisting of a series of 22 major arcana and 56 minor arcana, better known today as playing cards.
The first series holds an aura of secrecy as its figures take up a broad symbolic tradition born between the French Middle Ages and the Italian Renaissance, most likely connected to even earlier memories.
Indeed, in its universal archetypes lies all human knowledge, communicating with the individual's unconscious and awakening his most intimate and ancestral part.
In this series of 22 musical arcana, I wanted to transpose this initiatory and philosophical path to wisdom as in a form of meditation to be played with one's instrument, being inspired by a card.
Short, modern, and simple pieces, based on medieval mood theory, where ancient rhythms and modes created different emotions, to immerse oneself in sound introspection.

Ho visto l'uomo. La sua figura si estendeva dalla terra al cielo ed era rivestita di un manto color porpora. Era immerso nel fogliame e nei fiori e la sua testa, sulla quale c'era la fascia di un iniziato, sembrava scomparire misteriosamente nell'infinito. Davanti a lui, su un altare a forma di cubo, c'erano quattro simboli della magia: lo scettro, la coppa, la spada e il pentacolo. La sua mano destra indicava il cielo, la sinistra la terra. Sotto il mantello indossava una tunica bianca cinta da un serpente che inghiotte la coda. Il suo volto era luminoso e sereno e, quando i suoi occhi incontrarono i miei, sentii che vedeva i più intimi recessi della mia anima. Mi vedevo riflessa in lui come in uno specchio e nei suoi occhi mi sembrava di guardare me stessa. E ho sentito una voce che diceva: “Guarda, questo è il Grande Mago!”. Con le sue mani unisce il cielo e la terra, e i quattro elementi che formano il mondo sono controllati da lui.

Un nome misterioso per descrivere gli antichi tarocchi, composti da una serie di 22 arcani maggiori e 56 arcani minori, oggi meglio conosciuti come carte da gioco.
La prima serie racchiude un'aura di segretezza in quanto le sue figure riprendono un'ampia tradizione simbolica nata tra il Medioevo francese e il Rinascimento italiano, molto probabilmente collegata a memorie ancora più antiche.
Infatti, nei suoi archetipi universali risiede tutta la conoscenza umana, comunicando con l'inconscio dell'individuo e risvegliando la sua parte più intima e ancestrale.
In questa serie di 22 arcani musicali, ho voluto trasporre questo percorso iniziatico e filosofico verso la saggezza come in una forma di meditazione da suonare con il proprio strumento, ispirandosi a una carta.
Pezzi brevi, moderni e semplici, basati sulla teoria medievale degli stati d'animo, dove antichi ritmi e modi creavano emozioni diverse, per immergersi nell'introspezione sonora.
