I apoligze for the slight delay in posting videos, but I had to prepare the last documentary from 1985, which took a long time. I'll be bakc in full swing in September.
I wish you an happy summer bringing you a game that is tremendously underrated and I really think its a pure gem, unique in its own nature, being a free scrolling shooter, run n'gun like style.
This game is insane! Wonderfully insane, pure adrenaline and very good graphics. You are not forced to scroll the screen and go forhead, you must explore, withdraw and returning back, strategically setting your own path. And you need to complete the level as soon as possible, cuz things became nasty when you indulge too much.
The gameplay IMHO is perhaps the best until this moment, that in our history of gaming is the 1985.
You have to eliminate the guardians to open the exits, and collect upgrading for the weapon that simplfy a lot the combat, and the difficulty. Problem is everytime you take an hit you lose an upgrading...so more are you powerful more you have to lose and you need to be more focused.
One low of this game is the roulette at the end of every level, that allow you to gain or lose one shield point, and you can stay sure that each one makes a significative difference during gameplay. Plus when you gain one you sacrifice all the "pets" you collected, which are however foundamentals to stuck the bossess during fights, and this makes a huge difference during gameplay too. Its a brutal trade off.
Anyway this is one of my favourite arcade games of this year, if not the whole 80s, so I put a lot of effort to do it.
I played it normally until I almost die, almost at the end of the game, so I added some extra lives cuz I really wanted to finish it! Lucky I needed only one set of extras, and I spent it all just to make it through the last "world". Insane.
It was worth the effort though, just to see the revealing of the hero at the end, one of the first females characters in the gaming realm, if not the first in the action oriented, considering The Legend of Kage was published later. So this is a record. But as I said you have to go through the whole mess, carnage and whatever this game could be to discover that...
Mi scuso per il leggero ritardo nella pubblicazione dei video, ma ho dovuto preparare l'ultimo documentario del 1985, che ha richiesto molto tempo. Tornerò a pieno regime a settembre.
Vi auguro buone vacanze con un gioco piuttosto sottovalutato e che ritengo davvero un gioiello, unico nel suo genere, essendo uno sparatutto a scorrimento libero, ma in stile run'n'gun.
Questo gioco è pazzesco! Meravigliosamente folle, pura adrenalina e una grafica davvero niente male. Non siete costretti a scorrere lo schermo e andare avanti, dovete esplorare, ritirarvi e tornare indietro, impostando strategicamente il vostro percorso. E dovete completare il livello il prima possibile, perché le cose si complicano se indulgete troppo.
Il gameplay, a mio modesto parere, è forse il migliore fino ad ora, che nella nostra storia dei videogiochi è il 1985.
Bisogna eliminare i guardiani per aprire le uscite e raccogliere potenziamenti per le armi che semplificano notevolmente il combattimento e la difficoltà. Il problema è che ogni volta che subisci un colpo perdi un potenziamento..quindi più sei potente, più hai da perdere e devi essere più concentrato.
Un punto debole di questo gioco è la roulette alla fine di ogni livello, che ti permette di guadagnare o perdere uno scudo, e puoi stare certo che ognuno di essi fa una differenza significativa durante la partita. Inoltre, quando ne guadagni uno, sacrifichi tutti i "pets" che hai collezionato, i quali però sono fondamentali per immobilizzare i boss durante i combattimenti, e anche questo fa un'enorme differenza durante il gioco. È un trade off brutale.
Comunque, questo è uno dei miei giochi arcade preferiti di quest'anno, se non di tutti gli anni '80, quindi mi sono impegnato a fondo per portarlo a termine.
Ci ho giocato normalmente fino quasi al game over, praticamente alla fine del gioco, quindi ho aggiunto delle vite extra per riuscire finirlo! Per fortuna mi è bastato un solo set di vite, e le ho spese tutte solo per superare l'ultimo "mondo". Pazzesco. Ne è valsa la pena, però, solo per vedere la rivelazione del protagonista alla fine, uno dei primi personaggi femminili nel mondo dei videogiochi, se non il primo in un gioco d'azione, considerando che The Legend of Kage è stato pubblicato successivamente. Quindi, si tratta di un primato. Ma come ho detto, bisogna passare attraverso tutto il caos, la carneficina e tutto ciò che questo gioco potrebbe rappresentare per scoprirlo...
