Why Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions went Broke!

Dharma Productions is known for shaping indian film industry with classic Bollywood movies like Kuchh Kuchh Hot Hai, K3G, My Name is Khan, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani etc.
Recently the rumors had started flying that the production house is in huge loss and is going broke. It is being said that Karan Johar might be selling shares of Dharma Productions. It did become official when Dharma Productions did make a statement about it and sold 50% of its stakes to Adar Poonawalla.

What could be the reason though? Nepotism? Loss of touch with reality? Spreading too thin?
With Jigra starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina coming out as a flop, I think its time we discuss this.
