Hyper Street Fighter II playthrough (Nintendo Switch, 1CC)

Playthrough with Ken, using the version of the game included on Capcom Fighting Collection. This game knows how to raise my blood pressure really quickly. It was originally released in 2004 but plays more like something from 1994, the CPU is disgusting. I always found it very lazy the way that the CPU opponents always use the Super Turbo versions, the main gimmick is that you can pick any version of any character, but the single player mode completely misses the point.

And because the CPU uses the Super Turbo versions, you get Super Turbo AI difficulty too, yaaaaaay. It gets massive damage buffs, input reads basically everything and even getting to Akuma was made harder -you can't lose a single round if you want to fight him. And then if you do fight him, he's unsurprisingly really difficult to beat. By default the difficulty is based on the Japanese version, the American version is even harder. But even the Japanese version is still stupid hard.

I picked the Super Turbo version of Ken. He has a few useful tools against the CPU. His roundhouse kick is one of his best moves -most opponents will get hit by this all the time, there's only a few who will counter it, like Ryu or Cammy. His jab dragon punch is another good move, it'll always knock the opponent down and also builds super meter really quickly if you do several of them in a row.

Ken's super combo is also pretty good against the CPU. If it hits, it does decent damage, if it misses, it's ok -most of the time the CPU will just stand there whilst Ken lands, at which point you can get a throw in on them.
