Kanrach is a short documentary film by Uzair Surhio & Afreen Zehra named after a village in Balochistan.

Kanrach is located approximately 115 kilometers from Winder, Lasbela. The vision to make something out of the depravity of Balochistan’s people in order to bring even a slightest of change in their lives was the hope behind this film.

This documentary gave us more than what we dreamed. To make possible all the arrangements required to shoot a film 4-5 hours away from Karachi in a village with 40-degree temperature, no clean drinking water, no electricity and to stay there for two days was something that came out of nothing but the dire passion of telling stories. The sweat and sore led us to create something impactful, which later went to places and won several laurels.

One of the biggest achievements as filmmakers is having to be brave enough to think about creating a film like this, about becoming the ‘Voice of the Voiceless’.

We believe that documentaries like Kanrach have a power to inspire and motivate people towards philanthropy. This story is to inspire others in making their contribution towards bringing a meaningful change in the lives of the people.

We are glad to share the film with you.
