A neighbor to Yellowstone, Grand Teton National Park is a must-visit destination in the U.S. Brimming with epic mountain views, lakes, rivers, and more than 200 miles of hiking trails, this Wyoming park offers a plethora of outdoor activities for visitors of all ages and abilities. At the park’s visitor centers, you can learn about this region’s rich, Native American heritage that dates back more than 10,000 years.

Plan your trip to Grand Teton National Park with these expert tips. Here are 9 things to do during your visit:

1. Take a scenic drive. From 20 paved miles of Teton Park Road to the unpaved Moose-Wilson Road (not accessible for RVs), a great way to see this park is by taking a drive to get familiar with the area before you go exploring by foot.

2. View wildlife. Pilgrim Creek, Moose Ponds, Schwabacher Landing, and Elk Ranch Flats are all ideal locations for checking out some of the wildlife roaming freely in Grand Teton National Park.

3. Take a hike. Looking for Teton trail recommendations? Taggart Lake Trail, Hidden Falls Trail, Inspiration Point, Cascade Canyon, Colter Bay Lakeshore Trail, Moose Ponds Trail, and String Lake Trail are some of the top trails within the park.

4. Ride a bike. The many paved paths throughout the park make it easy to explore Grand Teton via bicycle.

5. Take a dip. From fishing and kayaking to swimming and floating down the Snake River, there are plenty of water activities to keep you occupied and cooled off after a long day of exploring.

6. Mormon Row. Visit the park’s multiple homesteads built by early settlers dating back to the 1890s.

7. Catch a sunrise or sunset. From Colter Bay Beach, Oxbow Bend, Schwabacher Landing, Signal Mountain Overlook, and Pilgrim Creek, you can catch stunning sunrises and sunsets.

8. Plan a picnic. There are so many great spots to pull off the road or trail and relax with an afternoon picnic. Just be sure to pack out all the snacks and supplies you bring with you, and don’t feed the wildlife.

9. Build a campfire. When safe and permitted, there’s no better way to end your day than with a campfire at your campsite.
