•Hortria turkey berry (Solanum torvum) seeds have good quality and they are specially processed for germination. They germinate more faster and healthier.

·        Turkey berry seeds( Solanum torvum or Sunddakai, adavi vaanga or Bahankatiya or chunda) are used for producing turkey berries (For vegetable purpose) or the seedlings used for grafting with brinjal plants.

·        Turkey berry seeds germinate after 15 days from the date of planting in protrays ( Soak the seeds in clean water for 12 hours and then plant in the protrays, use cocoa peat for germination , place the protrays in 50 percent shade net house or you can place it under a tree, cover the protrays entirely with white transparent polythene cover until germination takes place, water the protrays regularly at every 3 days. ).
·        The germinated seedlings produce turkey berries on 90th day ( 3rd month) after transplanting in the main field.

Turkey berry Plants grafting with Brinjal plants( Egg plant):

·        Turkey berry seeds are sown in protrays containing Cocopeat and the seeds will germinate in 15 days.

·        After the germination of turkey berry seeds Brinjal seeds are planted in separate protrays containing cocopeat. Brinjal seeds will germinate in 15 days.

·        Now grow both seedlings for another 25 days. Now the age of both  Turkey berry seedlings and Brinjal seedlings will be 55 days and 40 days  respectively.

·        Now graft the 55 days old turkey berry seedlings with 40 days old Brinjal seedlings (Here the turkey berry Seedlings are used as rootstock and the Brinjal seedlings are used as scion).

·        The grafted seedlings are ready for transplanting after 25 days from the date of grafting.

·        The grafted seedlings will produce Brinjal fruits after 90 days of transplanting in the main field.

·        Note: While germinating both Turkey berry seeds and Brinjal seeds in protrays soak both seeds in clean water for 12 hours and then plant in the protrays, use cocopeat for germination, cover the protrays entirely with white transparent polythene cover and place the protrays in shade net separately ( don’t place one by one)  water the protrays regularly at every 3 days.
