In this 1981 documentary, NFPA® recounts the major fire at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. The fire investigation was a joint operation between Clark County, NV officials and NFPA. Investigation findings affected code revisions in the hotel/motel industry, construction, fire sprinkler systems, and more.

The MGM Grand Hotel was a “super” hotel with a casino, 2000 guest rooms, and convention space. On November 21, 1980, a massive fire occurred, and 85 people perished.
