-- You can use coloured fondant or glitter sugar for the cake decorations for a festive touch.

-- You can brush the cake with warm apricot jam before covering with marzipan. This helps the marzipan stick. However, if you have a moist cake and are decorating just a couple of days in advance, you can skip this step.
