Kaal Ashtami holds profound religious and spiritual significance among Hindus. This observance, dedicated to Lord Kaal Bhairav, takes place on the Ashtami Tithi (eighth day) of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon) in the month of Sawan. On this auspicious day, devotees observe a fast and offer prayers to Kaal Bhairav, seeking courage, protection, and the strength to overcome life’s obstacles. The rituals include taking a holy bath, cleaning the surroundings, offering flowers, lighting a diya with mustard oil, chanting mantras, and reciting the Kaal Bhairav Ashtakam.

Lord Kaal Bhairav, a fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva, is revered for his power to remove negative elements such as lust, anger, greed, attachment, and ego. By worshiping Bhairav Baba, devotees can gain strength and safeguard themselves from evil energies.

Kaal Bhairav is considered the guardian of temples and the deity of time and death. His worship is believed to bestow wisdom, protection, and the ability to confront challenges fearlessly. Devotees seek his blessings for the destruction of ignorance and the acquisition of spiritual knowledge, thus paving the way for a righteous and fulfilling life.

July 27th is KaalAshtami.
