What does being calm mean to you?

And I'm sure you've heard so many people say: "Just stay calm, it'll all be ok..." And you feel this sentence triggers you even more.

Being calm means controlling your emotions and reactions, allowing you to think clearly and respond thoughtfully rather than impulsively.

Failing to practice calmness can lead to various negative outcomes, especially when you feel out of control. Chronic stress and anxiety can result from a constant state of agitation, impacting both mental and physical health.

This is why you also need to go back to the basics and start caring for your needs.

Practising calmness daily can involve several strategies, such as mindfulness meditation. This powerful tool allows you to focus on the present moment and your breath, helping to quiet the mind and reduce stress.

Similarly, regular physical exercise, like yoga or walking, can also promote calmness by releasing tension and boosting mood.

Even though these are just a few things you can do, there are many other simple tips.

And so, I would like to introduce you to Jenna Hermans.

Jenna is a high-performance coach and co-founder of Be Courageous. She works with individuals and organisations to create infrastructure that supports overall well-being.

Today, you’re going to learn:
1. What does 'being calm' really mean.
