We went on a road trip to the upper peninsula of Michigan to attend a myco blitz event hosted by Midwest American Mycological Information where we went out mushroom hunting for the purpose of documenting the various mushroom species in Michigan. The samples were collected and processed for DNA analysis.

We camped for 4 days while visiting many historical locations and we even went down into a copper mine where I found a blue Mycena amicta mushroom (Bluefoot Bonnet).

Northern Michigan is so beautiful and always has the largest amount of mushroom diversity so it's always a pleasure when I get the chance to go up there.
