Ramgarh Shekhawati and neighbouring areas, often known as the open art gallery of Rajasthan is the largest Open air historical artistic Museum like exhibit and habitat , the only region of its kind in the world, which had the highest per capita income in the world in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
It is now facing a serious the threat of destruction.
The fresco art and architecture and the magnificent painted walls, on inner and outer walls and ceilings of havelies, Chhatries, temples and others sites are unprecedented in the world. This region needs to be saved from the exodus of youth and entire families, because of lack of quality higher education and sustainable economic incentives. Let us work together to resurrect this world culture heritage habitat into a thriving historical narratives and Art attraction since the whole town can be made into a walking museum. The heritage education and culture will also empower and bring pride to the local people and empower its women and children.
