Here it is, the new project Mini. Found on E-bay but I lost the auction only to later find the higher bidder messed the seller around so it was offered to the next highest bidder...... Me. The Mini is a 1997 Rover Cooper MPI and has been off the road in a garage since 2007! It's what some might call a barn find.

In this update I see if it will actually run. I'm not sure how long since it last ran so was very cautious about making sure it had oil pressure before trying to start. The engine cranked over find with a battery boost but then there was no fuel getting to the injectors. I quickly found the fueling issue to be a seized fuel pump and after removing the tank to get to the in tank pump a bit of a clean and a tap with a hammer un seized the pump. Once we had fuel pressure the engine ran but with a misfire on cylinder 3 & 4, I traced this to a sticking injector which soon freed off with a tap or two.
