Skoda Superb 2020 New Multimedia Infotainment System & Digital Cockpit.

Infotainment systems for better travelling
The ŠKODA SUPERB offers four new infotainment
systems and delivers exemplary connectivity and internet access. Apart from the entry-level model, the infotainment systems can be conveniently connected to a smartphone via SmartLink+ (MirrorLink™/Apple CarPlay/Android Auto).

The SmartLink+ also allows to access vehicle data via ŠKODA’s own SmartGate function that can be used in any number of ways.

Wi-Fi technology, in connection with the top-of-the-range Columbus system, can also be used with optional high-speed internet (LTE). Using Wi-Fi and the new optional ŠKODA Media Command app, you can remotely control selected functions of the Columbus infotainment system.

Advanced infotainment features
There are phones, and there are smart phones. There are radios, and there are smart radios. We call ours infotainment systems.

The ŠKODA SUPERB offers advanced infotainment systems with numerous features enabling you to make safe telephone calls even when you are driving, connect external devices via a USB even from the back seats, and control the infotainment system via a mobile application from anywhere in the car.

The new ŠKODA Connect system makes the SUPERB a fully interconnected car. ŠKODA Connect consists of three service packages. The Infotainment Online package delivers completely new information and navigation services, while the Care Connect package lets you control certain vehicle functions with your smartphone (Remote Access) and provides a connection to the service partner of your choice (Proactive Service). The third service, an integral part of ŠKODA Connect, is Emergency Call.

The Infotainment Online package offers a wide range of services: the traffic situation, news, etc. For example, with weather forecast displayed on the Columbus infotainment system you will always have up-to-date weather data at your hand.

Remote Access gives you access to a host of your car’s features via your smartphone and the ŠKODA Connect app. In a town you don’t know, it’s easy to find where you parked your car, and in winter you can simply heat up the car before you get in. Life just became that little bit better.

The Proactive Service gives you a perfect insight into your vehicle’s technical condition and upcoming servicing. By teaming up with your selected service partner, the system ensures that your car remains in excellent technical condition whatever the circumstances.

Emergency Call
In an accident, a connection with the emergency centre is automatically activated. The system also automatically transmits information about the vehicle position, the direction of travel, the number of passengers and the scale of damage. Emergency Call can also be initiated by the car’s passengers manually, for example if they witness an accident. Contact is maintained until the ambulance arrives.

ŠKODA offers a new application which uses Wi-Fi technology and allows rear-seat passengers to access Columbus navigation infotainment system features with their tablet or smartphone. With the ŠKODA Media Command app, you can display system components on the tablet or smartphone and conveniently operate individual functions via the app.

The optional Canton Sound System uses twelve high-performance speakers: ten in the side doors, one centrally located in the dashboard, and a sub-woofer in the boot. The system’s 610 W output is the best in the mid-size car class.
The hands-free system guarantees ease and safety of telephone use while driving. Audiostreaming is also available. Except for the Swing infotainment system, you can connect 2 phones simultaneously, use voice control and text-to-speech. The system can read out text incoming messages, which can also be written on the display.
This option is integrated into the Columbus system. High-speed (LTE) internet can be activated by inserting a SIM card for the mobile internet into the appropriate slot on the hard drive in the glove compartment. The integrated Wi-Fi technology enables all passengers to browse the internet wirelessly on their individual devices.
The option to connect and recharge external multimedia players and memory devices (USB sticks) via the USB connector is standard with ŠKODA infotainment systems. An additional second USB socket in the Jumbo Box is available as an option.
Two optional USB sockets and 230 V socket are located on the back of the Jumbo Box. This feature is available for rear-seat passengers and provides recharging function. The 230V socket can be used to connect devices requiring power of up to 150 W, such as the power cord of a laptop or DVD player.
MapCare is available for Amundsen and Columbus infotainment systems as standard in Europe. It comes with free lifelong map updates.
