Background
The Zagato and ISORIVOLTA nameplates have more than 130 years of history between them. Since 1919, Zagato has designed and made numerous one-offs and limited production, high performance models for a variety of marques such as Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Maserati and Lamborghini. Zagato-bodied Alfas and models from other marques have won numerous races over the decades; this includes overall victories at Le Mans and the Mille Miglia in Italy.
ISO was founded by dynamic entrepreneur Renzo Rivolta, and his company first entered the transportation industry in the late 1940s with a series of very successful motor scooters, motorcycles and the diminutive Isetta "city car." The firm graduated to GT cars in the early 1960s, and successfully competed against Ferrari, Maserati, Aston Martin, Lamborghini and others during the gran turismo heydays. ISO's model range exemplified a "Best of Both Worlds" philosophy with stunning Italian coachwork, a cutting edge chassis, and high performance with reliability via Chevrolet Corvette (and later Ford) engines.
The most famous ISO was the two-seat Grifo that was widely recognized as one of the fastest and greatest GT cars of its day. It also competed at venues such as Le Mans, where the Grifo A3/C finished first in class in 1964 and '65.

A Love Story
In the late 1990s third generation coachbuilder Andrea Zagato met third generation car constructor Marella Rivolta. The two hit it off and would to marry, creating a love story unique in auto industry history. Over the past two-plus decades they have skillfully guided Zagato to again become an industry leader in bespoke, custom coachwork and limited production high performance cars.
Their most recent offering is the ISORIVOLTA GTZ, and this stunning sports/GT marks the first time a coachbuilder and constructor have been husband and wife, and created a car that carries both of their family names. This beautiful machine is the direct result of that passion and, like the Grifo A3/C from which it took inspiration, the ISORIVOLTA GTZ is a front mid-engine design that uses a Corvette engine (a Z06's 660 horsepower LT4, in this case). The GTZ weighs less than 2700 pounds, thanks to its custom made-carbon fiber coachwork, and each example takes 2,500 man-hours to make. Production was limited to just 19 cars, and the example seen here is the only one in the U.S. at the time of this video's posting.
