"She locked us in the basement. I got out through the window but they're too small to reach it."

The door he was pounding on belonged to the biggest man on Plateau Road — a 280-pound motorcycle club enforcer with three Harleys in the driveway and a light on in the garage that an 11-year-old boy saw from the road and ran toward because when you're running in the dark, you run toward light.

What happened next brought three bikers, two deputies, and a state trooper to a house that looked perfectly normal from the outside — because the worst ones always do.
