Population of Hindu Muslim by 2050: India is known all over the world as a Hindu majority country where people of all religions live together. The Constitution of India also gives everyone complete freedom to follow and propagate their religion. One such organization is the Pew Research Institute.

Hinduism will become the world's third-largest religion by 2050, while India will overtake Indonesia as the country with the largest Muslim population, according to a new study by Pew Research. The Pew Research Center's "The Future of World Regions" study estimates that the worldwide Hindu population will grow by about 34% by 2050, from a little over 1 billion to 1.4 billion.

The study says that Hindus will constitute 14.9% of the world's total population, after Christians (31.4%) and Muslims (29.7%). India will have the highest number of Muslims than any other country.

According to the study, the number of Muslims in India will exceed 310 million by 2050. Hindus will remain the majority of India's population (77%) and Muslims will remain the largest minority (18%).

Hindu population will decrease in these three Muslim countries

However, let us tell you one thing that while the number of minority Muslims will increase in India, the number of Hindus will decrease in some Muslim-majority countries. Due to reasons like low fertility rate, conversion and migration, the population of Hindus will fall in many countries in 2050.

The first country where the population of Hindus will decrease is Pakistan. In 2010, the population of Hindus there was 1.6 percent which will fall to 1.3 in 2015 according to Pew Research.

In Bangladesh, the Hindu population was 8.5 percent in 2010 which is estimated to be 7.2 percent in 2050. On the other hand, in 2010, the Hindu population in Afghanistan is estimated to be 0.4 percent to 0.3 percent.
