Croatia is in our top three countries to travel during European summer. It delivers everything you dream of for a European summer. But, if you have been there recently you will know that it is extremely expensive and insanely crowded. When we arrived in Makarska we were pleasantly surprised, it delivers everything you could hope for on a Croatian holiday, but less of a rip-off and less crowded. The water is a clear blue/green and the perfect swimming temperature. The historical buildings and terracotta rooftops are iconic. But it’s the mountain backdrop that makes you feel like you're inside a painting.
