Surrender is an important skill to have as a dealer. Use the same skills you learned during insurance in order to know how to determine what half of a player's bet is.

If a player chooses to surrender, they may only do so when it is their turn to make a decision. They will indicate their decision simply by using their pointer finger to drag across the table behind their bet and declaring, "Surrender".

Once a player has indicated they would like to surrender, us - as the dealer will mimic the player's hand sign and will also announce, "Surrender" as an alert call - meaning that floor intervention is not required.

We will promptly bring the player's bet and any associated dealer tip to the left side of the shuffle pad then total the amount and determine what half of the total bet is. Once we have determined what half of the bet is, we will then bring out that amount on the right side of the shuffle pad from our rack - keeping in mind that it must be easily read by cameras before delivering it to the player.

Once the payment has been given to the player, we will then "lock up" the player's original bet that was on the left side of the shuffle pad and then promptly remove the player's cards from the table.

We will then move on to the next player in succession and continue the game as normal.

Fortunately, this is not a skill that many casinos require. This is not widely available as an option to the players simply because giving players this type of "way out" means that casinos will not generate as much income as they would like - therefore, reducing profits.
