The ruling Council of the Duma, Russia's lower house of parliament, on Tuesday (31/3) scheduled a Wednesday vote on a Communist-sponsored resolution urging President Boris Yeltsin to withdraw his nomination for a prime minister and consult parliament.

SOT Ultra-Nationalist leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky in russian "The communists want to postpone the vote on Prime Minister, to hold round table talks. It is their usual style but there is the constitution of Russia. According to the constitution, we only vote for the candidate put forward by the President. That is it constitution does not provide for round table talks." ;
