The Coastal marshlands and surrounding areas are facing a long and difficult road to recovery after the Gulf Oil spill that has placed crude oil in them. As the leak in the gulf is being plugged, it will be important to turn the focus to the cleanup of these marshlands that are vital to the coast for many reasons.
There is a need for new and improved methods of cleaning up the marshes and Wetland Skimmers LLC would like to step up to fill that void. We have, over the course of the last few months, developed a cutting edge piece of technology named the Marsh Mop. The ultra-light weight design of this machine has been extensively tested for its ability to skim oil from the surface or water and terrain while preserving the vegetation onsite and those tests have proved successful. We are confident in our machine's ability to help with the cleanup efforts. The machine does not require air lifting to locations as it is equipped with its own versatile all terrain equipment. Testing so far has yielded a pumping amount that exceeds 300 gallons per minute of skimmed waste. The Mop is built to use the properties of the oil to attract it to our skimming apparatus that is attached to the rover.
