I have the Steam Deck right here and in today's video I'll be showing you how to install the glass screen protector sold by Spigen. They call this thing the Glas.tR EZ Fit thanks to the applicator tray that helps you align it properly.

I don't even use screen protectors on my smartphone anymore, but I could easily see a piece of sand or something finding its way into the carrying case from a bookbag and causing issues. It doesn't hurt that these glass screen protectors can also absorb some of the impact from drops which could save the display from a nasty fall.

You can see how easy the applicator tray fits in place so that you're confident that it will be applied well.
You'll also get this installation guide, but this is just an overview and leaves out a crucial step.

In this package here you'll get a squeegee for pushing out air bubbles, a wet cloth for cleaning up the screen, a dry one for wiping it down, and dust removal sticker. Which is the step that's left out of the instruction card here.

So before you start, go wash your hands and then clean the area you'll be working in.
This will help to remove dust and prevent oils from leaving fingerprints on your glass screen protector.

Get out your dust sticker and tap it all over the screen. This will pick up any dust or debris that has floated onto your Steam Deck since it was wiped down.

Now we're going to turn the applicator tray upside down and grab this tab here.
Pulling it off slowly to remove the back film from the screen protector.

Align the applicator with your Steam Deck and set it into place.
We'll be using the press, slide, and wait motion as indicated by the sticker.
So that the screen protector adheres to the display of the Steam Deck.

Now we will remove the sticker by pulling this tab firmly, all the way off the applicator.
This will wake some effort to get it completely off so take your time and go slowly.

After we remove the applicator from the Steam Deck, you will have another piece of film that needs to be peeled away.
So again, look for the tab and then pull it back and off your Steam Deck.

Finally, we can grab the squeegee pry tool that they include to push out any remaining bubbles that you see.
They should be easy to push out, so no need to worry if you were left with a bunch floating under there.

Just find the nearest edge for a bubble and slowly push it out.

When you're done, I recommend bringing up a completely white screen on the Steam Deck so that you can inspect how things turned out.
The first time I applied one of these I did not use the dust sticker and ended up finding a few ultra tiny pieces of fabric between the Steam Deck and the screen protector.

Thankfully, these are easy to remove so if you end up noticing some then it won't take much of an effort to remove it.

Spigen did not pay me to do this video, and they did not send me this protector free of charge. I purchased it from Amazon and you can find an affiliate link for this product in the video description below.

So if you buy one using my link down below, it will help to support this channel so that I can bring you more Steam Deck content on a regular basis.
