Ecosystems are characterized by a complex network of relationships between organisms and their physical surroundings.

Ecosystems can range in size from a small pond or forest to the entire planet. They are typically divided into two main components: biotic and abiotic. The biotic component includes all living organisms, while the abiotic component includes all non-living things, such as sunlight, water, and air.

Ecosystems play an essential role in maintaining the balance of nature and sustaining life on earth. They provide a variety of benefits, including clean air and water, food and other resources, and recreational opportunities. However, ecosystems are vulnerable to disturbances, such as pollution, climate change, and habitat destruction, which can disrupt the delicate balance of these systems and threaten the survival of many species.
