Wading For RIVER SMALLMOUTH With Ultralight Gear!

Part 2 of the three-day fishing adventures with ‪@CreekFishingAdventures‬ we decided to go wade a smaller section of river after a long morning in the kayaks. I only took my fanny pack and one ultralight rod. I was able to catch a lot of fished, but honestly, I am still bummed about the one that got away!

I started with a 1/16oz Workhorse Jig and Green Pumpkin Donkey Tail Jr, and switched to the same Donkey Tail Jr on a 1/32oz Mule Jig after I broke off. Both worked well - the Workhorse Jig allowed me to cover more water, whereas the Mule Jig was more effective in the super shallow stuff.

Little smallmouth bass on ultralight gear is so much fun! Yes, a 4 or 5lb bass is always a riot, but if you use the proper gear on smaller fish, they can put up an equally good fight. I always have fun when I explore this spot!
