The Clear Coat that fooled me! | 2014 Nissan Maxima Headlight Restoration

Hello everyone! In this video I am restoring headlights on a 2014 Nissan Maxima. This was the perfect opportunity to explain that not all clear coat is fully intact. Some original clear coats may appear to be fulling intact when they are not. Why is this important? Because it will save you some time with your starting grit of sand paper. Clear coat has a few different stages, and this clear coat was in a weak state, and on the brink of oxidation. This is why its important to be cautious with what sand paper you are starting with.

I wet sanded with a 400 grit, then finished with a 600 before applying the clear coat.
