This 25-minute Yin yoga practice is an invitation for everyone to take a moment to find some stillness and calm in the body and the mind. In this sequence, the focus is mainly in the hip and leg area but - as usual - we're diving into the spine and shoulders as well. We'll be playing with several Deer poses; a forward bend, a reclining variation, and a Twisted Deer.
Yin yoga is a very slow style of yoga and often poses are held for several minutes. This can make the classes quite long, so I wanted to offer you a shorter Yin practice where each pose lasts only approximately 2 minutes. For many people, these shorter poses can make the practice more accessible and manageable too.
You'll need at least one bolster or a large cushion or a rolled up blanket for the practice. I recommend having others soft props around as well in case you want to enhance your practice further with extra propping.
This is Yin yoga for everyone: beginners, seasoned yogis, and anyone interested in self-care. If you're in need of a pause and time to check in with yourself, then this practice might be for you. Yin is (the way) in.
