Tuba Excerpt Ride of the Valkyries on the JinBao CC tuba

I think I worked this up in the past couple of days to 84 or so. I like to play it between 80 and 92. If your taking an audition, be prepared it play it at 100 -112 as you may be asked to play it much faster. This is where double tonguing comes in nicely to help accommodate the faster tempo if needed. I do use double tongue within all the triplets at all tempos.

Practicing to get this ready was as follows, The night before, I started with my metronome at the eighth note set at 120, and worked it up from there. I also use all dynamic levels, playing the whole piece at piano, mp, and so forth. This i found works for me when trying to prepare on a short notice.
