Nick Mann's Mannic Beattie hillclimb car spectacular engine start procedure !!

Описание к видео Nick Mann's Mannic Beattie hillclimb car spectacular engine start procedure !!

This is Nick Manns self designed and built Mannic Beattie. It is powered by a Ford BDA engine (starts at 38.0 seconds in to the clip), driven by a Turbo which is itself powered by an auxiliary power unit (APU) which keeps the turbo spinning at full boost all the time.

This was recorded at Shelsley Walsh in July 2005. The car is four wheel drive, and is incredibly quick off the line, recording times of under 1.9 seconds for the uphill 64 feet marker, which is in excess of 2G off the line.

Nick starts the BDA at 38.0s. Then watch for the driver to raise his hand, and then listen carefully for the APU to start-up (the high pitched whine), which is started by compressed air, and operated by the helper standing alongside.
