And as I started journaling, it hit me

I was showing up to my marriage, but not showing up for her

So I made a shift
A small one

The next day, I came home
And instead of going to the fridge, the couch, the phone
I went straight to her

I looked her in the eyes and said
“Hi. I missed you”

It wasn’t dramatic
It wasn’t flashy
But it was real

And that moment built something we hadn’t had in years
Joy

Not surface-level happiness
But the kind of joy that starts with presence and leads to connection
