Able = able to do something
(used as a modal verb)
to have the skill, intelligence, opportunity, etc. needed to do something
You must be able to speak French for this job.


We use this word more regularly than we think. To be able to do something is a skill.


Let's teach our children a word a day and by the
age of 5 they will have learnt
1825 words
age of 8 = 2920 words
age of 13 = 4745

By teenage age they will have learnt roughly 5000 new words.
