Launched at Baselworld 2011, the Patek Philippe Aquanaut Travel Time quickly became the definitive version of IWC's junior sports watch. For the first time, the Aquanaut moved out from the shadow of its big brother, the Patek Philippe Nautilus.

At 40.8mm in rose gold, the Aquanaut Travel Time is slightly larger than the standard 5167. The 5164R's case lines are preserved by a clever travel time trigger system that preserves the case lines while integrating the GMT complication. Both "wings" of the Aquanaut case remain intact.

The lugs of the Aquanaut frame a Patek Philippe composite strap in chocolate brown. This robust rubber strap is ideal for sports or aquatic use, and it is matched to a secure trigger actuated deployant clasp. The folding clasp is constructed from 18-karat rose gold to match the case.

Patek Philippe equips the Aquanaut Travel Time with a brown black dial that includes overtones of bronze, gold, and even shades of colors. Rose gold Arabic numerals and hands carry copious amounts of super luminova for night time legibility. The date at six o'clock is coordinated with the local time, and a stub GMT hand provides a convenient second time zone. This dual time watch incorporates a dual day-night display for both reference time and local time.

The Patek Philippe Aquanaut case is water resistant to 120 meters. Inside resides a Patek Philippe in house caliber 324 SC FUS. It boasts a 35-45 hour power reserve, a beat rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour, ceramic rotor bearings, and a Spiromax silicon hairspring.

The Gyromax free sprung balance has been adjusted in six positions. All components of the automatic Swiss caliber have been hand finished in the finest tradition of Geneva watchmaking.

The Patek Philippe Aquanaut Travel Time is encased in 40mm of rose gold surrounding a brown gradient dial on a brown rubber strap. Functions include hours, minutes, seconds, date, and dual time display. The watch also measures 10.4mm in thickness and 47.3mm from lug-to-lug.
