Once covered in mid-century asbestos stucco, this 116-year-old East Texas bank building was hiding a piece of architectural history beneath decades of damage. What started as a “modernization” in the mid-1900s left the original brick and stone nearly destroyed, with 90% of the brickwork crumbling and moisture damage spreading throughout.

When our team uncovered the original structure, we immediately went into recovery mode. Every inch of damaged masonry was carefully torn down and rebuilt using historically accurate materials. With the help of Acme Brick, we sourced Smooth Garnet brick and matching stone to bring this landmark back to life.

Now transformed into a modern medical office, this historic restoration showcases the craftsmanship and care required to blend past and present — preserving East Texas history one brick at a time.
