Dr Robotnik's Ring Racers - Any% (Gear 1) - RTA

Recorded at 120fps. There may be some frame hiccups

Gear 1 runs are.. slow but pretty easy. Extra Cup was a bit nerve wracking with all the SPBs nearly ruining me. This run is quicker than my 1st Gear 2 run

Next is All Chaos Emeralds Gear 3 and 2 since you can't get them on Gear 1. I have done a Gear 2 run before but it's probably a bad time if the time save from my last Any% Gear 2 run is anything to go by

9:31 - That Sneaker would've been good to grab
10:17 - Oh that's even better! Shame I messed up the turn right after getting it
13:18 - Actually managed to pass the SPB without it hitting me on the way unlike Eggman
31:49 - A Triple Sneaker! Totally not going to regret grabbing that
32:00 - Ah SPB. That is something I expected after I picked the item up
32:56 - Honestly probably the best thing was to get hit by it at this point
33:51 - And a Double Sneaker. Definitely won't regret grabbing this
43:52 - Gear 1 is so slow I went through the Tripwire 2x
45:56 - Oh Fang I didn't know you wanted the SPB that badly
46:12 - It's rough getting up those hills without Rings isn't it Fang?
47:48 - You can't even reach the 15 Ring box on Gear 1? It works out because I didn't notice there are 20 Ring box to the sides until I missed this
51:42 - Well this is unexpected. A SPB on this track, This is going to be rough.
54:51 - Another Triple Sneaker! These Mines are paying off more than usual so far
55:05 - And just like the last Triple Sneaker it comes at the cost of a SPB
55:24 - Oh sure the SPB casually skips the loop to stop me getting Rings
55:49 - I'm noticing a weird inconsistency with the Ring lock from the SPB. As soon as I hit 2nd the Ring box popped. But I still can't gather Rings lying on the ground until the SPB isn't locked on to me.
Unless something else caused me to pick up the Ring box

1:08:21 - HOLD IT! I see a Ring Shooter, This is my chance to shoot massively forwards! No! I completely choked it
I've done this only once before and it was a failed run so it was never uploaded but this mechanic is completely busted. If you ever see a Ring Shooter hit it! It is absolutely worth your time. I reckon it would've put me at or after the ramp section at the end
1:12:47 - Well that wasn't a great idea. I went a bit too close to those Rings and hit the Tripwire
1:14:22 - Only on Gear 1 could I manage to get a SPB here. Luckily we are almost done with the track
1:16:26 - This is becoming a bit of a thing isn't it? 3... 2... 1...
1:21:00 - Another track I don't normally get a SPB on. For a difficulty called 'Relaxed' it sure is filled with SPBs you don't get anywhere else if you are good
1:30:40 - That was a noticeable frame drop
1:37:50 - Woah! That was tight 2x!
1:38:12 - Uh so how is this jump over the spikes going to work? Never done this on Gear 1 before. I fail enough times on Gear 2 so this can only go well
Still 2 laps for that to go wrong
1:38:42 - I had trouble with this the entire time. Reversing works on Gear 2 and 3 but here it just.. doesn't. Fast falling (with speed) bounces you up the wall opposite. I didn't get the chance to try slowing down and fast falling. I guess that's the strat here on Gear 1
1:41:54 - I tried to do this on the other Any% runs but the speed made it more difficult to pull off
Downside that I'm about to realise is this basically guarantees a SPB
1:43:34 - Well the start shortcut probably wasn't worth all this pain
1:44:23 - Ah a nice Triple Sneaker to finish this track off
