On this day in 1941, Winston Churchill launched the "V for Victory" campaign across Europe. Here is a British Movietone report showing Churchill visiting blitzed areas.

The Premier receives a rousing welcome when he tours blitzed areas. Mr Churchill accompanied by Mrs Churchill. Mr Forrestal and Mr Harriman tours. Manchester and Liverpool. He inspects ARP personnel and tours shipyard. Signs book. (Big Head Of Churchill with cigar) - Good. No 'V' sign.
