Complex valued functions w=f(z) represent 2D manifolds, ie surfaces, in 4D space defined by (x,y,u,v), where z=x+iy and w=u+iv. These surfaces can be described by 3D parametric curve families, which in turn can be rendered in 3D space, where they also generate a "curve surface".

See previous videos for the method, both for functions defined in cartesian, and in polar coordinates. In this video several examples for typical functions are shown (the 4D graphs of which are the topic of videos elsewhere on this playlist).
