We set out to circle Mindoro island in the
… but things didn’t go as planned.

After hours of traveling by car and ferry, we arrived at a port only to realize there was no ferry to our destination. With no other option, we took an unexpected route through the mountains, unpaved roads, and areas with no signal — completely lost in the middle of the island.

It was dark, we had no GPS, and at one point, we literally had to drive through water to keep going. Thankfully, a few kind locals helped guide us through.

This is the truth about traveling the Philippines — it’s not always easy, but it’s always unforgettable.
