This week I began looking at the hymn “Seek Ye First”. It’s another favourite of mine to play, particularly during communion.

I always spend a good amount of time improvising through the chords and melody before putting an arrangement together. I quickly discovered this hymn uses all the same chords as Pachelbel’s Canon in D.

Usually I’m not a huge fan of medleys. I like my songs to have their own beginning, middle and end. However in this instance, I thought the classic segments added nicely to what is already a beautiful piece of music.
