Although called a flowering quince, and for good reason too, this shrub also produces edible fruits which are a bit smaller than the more classic eating quince, cydonia oblonga.

I filmed this earlier in the year prior to ripping up the back yard and creating a food forest, at the time this quince was growing in a dust bin but it's now taking pride of place in my food forest and I look forward to picking the fruit from it later on this year!
