Not the Fujifilm X100VI or the Ricoh GR IIIx | Panasonic GM5

Let the camera speak for itself.

On a quest for a compact camera with a viewfinder and great image quality, I came across the Panasonic Lumix GM5.

With all the hype around the Fujifilm X100 series and the Ricoh GR's, to me this seemed not only a good alternative, but a better option altogether. The body is significantly smaller than the X100s and it has a viewfinder (which the Ricoh GR series doesn't).
Sure it's a Micro Four-Thirds sensor, smaller than their APS-C sensors, but with this camera you can change the lenses, allowing for much more choice.
Since the camera body is so small, even tiny lenses like the Panasonic 20mm f1.7 look kinda large on it. But overall the camera is still extremely compact, perfect for street photography or just as an everyday carry camera for capturing those unexpected moments.

Having said that, this camera is not the easiest to find. I was lucky to come across this in one of Shinjuku's many used camera shops. Lens choice is abundant however, and if you tire of one set-up you can very easily change the focal length(s) for a new experience.
It's a wonderful little camera that I have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy using.
