Gordonstoun Pipe Band playing in the grounds of Gordon Castle during the 2024 Gordon Castle Estate Highland Games. The band, led by Pipe Major Scott Oliphant, were playing "Mairi's Wedding" then "Barnyards of Delgaty" and finally a repeat of "Mairi's Wedding".

The band includes many members of Gordonstoun School Pipe Band and this was part of their public display during the 2024 Gordon Castle Estate Highland Games & Country Fair at Fochabers in Moray, Scotland, on Sunday 19th May 2024.

'Mairi's Wedding', (The Lewis Bridal Song') has been popular throughout the world since it was first written in 1934. Set to an old Scottish folk tune that was collected by the piper and composer Dr Peter A McLeod, the original words for the song were written in Gaelic by John Bannerman. He attended the National Mod in 1934, an annual festival of Gaelic culture in Scotland, where Mary MacNiven was awarded the Gold Medal, the premiere singing prize of its kind, and was so impressed by her voice and performance he decided to write a song in her honour.
